Review: Industrie 4.0 Days Exhibition and Conference 2018.

Advanced manu­fac­tur­ing to get your hands on - this is what the first Industrie 4.0 Days were all about. Companies from German SMEs, mainly “Hidden Champions” located in the region, showcased their excellence of Industrie 4.0 solutions in the fully booked lobby of the German Centre. Beckhoff Automation, Robert Bosch, Fraunhofer Sin­ga­pore, Festo, Harting, ifm electronics, Murr Elektronik, Pilz South East Asia, Sick, Turck Banner, Werma Signaltechnik, Witron Sin­ga­pore and Wuerth Industrial Services showcased their solutions for industrial automation and digitalisation. Altogether 30 companies and insti­tutions supported the days with its more than 300 visitors.

Germany and Sin­ga­pore at the top of the list.

Germany and Sin­ga­pore are two of the top ten countries best positioned to benefit from the rise of advanced manu­fac­tur­ing and smart factories (according to the World Economic Forum (WEF)). 

The countries collaborate on several projects with some „big players“ from Germany being involved. But they are by far not the only ones that take industrial develop­ments to the next level. Many German SMEs, the Mittelstand, are playing a big part in Industry 4.0 by connecting multiple devices and machines at every step of the process, from raw material to end-user.
