Could you tell us more about your trade, what kind of products, services or solutions does uvex offer?

The uvex group, with headquarters in Fürth, Germany, has more than 90 years of expereince in the development, manu­fac­tur­ing and distribution of personal safety equipment that meet the highest standards in terms of innovation, quality and function.  Our company is centred around our mission of protecting people, which is embodied not only in our entire range of products, but also in our emphasis of going above and beyond the expectations of our customers.

Why was it important for uvex to set up a company in Sin­ga­pore and could you describe the footprint of your company in the ASEAN region?

Uvex Sin­ga­pore was setup in 2007 to serve the safety needs of our valued customers in ASEAN.  Along the way, we have also put up repre­sen­tative offices in Malaysia and Indonesia.  Being at the nexus of major ASEAN economies, Sin­ga­pore serves as an important launch pad for uvex to further expand and grow our business in the region.

In the recent Covid-19 situation, how has uvex contributed to aid during the pandemic?

Since the onset of covid-19 here in the region, uvex has been supporting our healthcare workers through our distribution partners with the provision of PPE they need at the frontline. That includes our protective goggles, eyewear, gloves, coverall and respirators.  We are glad to be playing a part in protecting people during times like these knowing that we can help save lives.

How do you predict the future of the ASEAN region and Sin­ga­pore?

Even with the uncertainties and challenging times ahead due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we are confident that ASEAN (including Sin­ga­pore) is still a very attractive market to stay invested and focus on.  It will remain as one of the fastest growing and developing region globally.

What do you think are the advantages of being in German Centre?

The location offers seamless access to our customers across Sin­ga­pore and has a direct link to the airport.  The Centre provides a professional and dedicated support team always ready to assist businesses. With a wide range of amenities, we do not even need to find another venue to host events such as product launches, seminars and functions.

What advice would you give to other companies who would like to set up their office in German Centre Sin­ga­pore?

You need to come witness and feel for yourself the professional business setup and ambience German Centre Sin­ga­pore has to offer. I am confident there will be no other place more conducive to spread your wings in growing your business.
