Could you please tell us more about your company - what kind of products, services or solutions do you offer as well as the type of customers you serve?

Pilz is a technology leader in safe automation technology. As “ambassadors for safety” for human, machine and the environment, Pilz offers complete automation solutions as well as services and training based around its core skill of safety. Our headquarter is located in Ostfildern, near Stuttgart and we are represented by 40 subsidiaries and 21 sales partners globally.

Our product ranges include technology, safety relays, controllers and robotics etc. We provide machinery safety related services .e.g. Risk Assessment, safety validation and training for our customers to better equip themselves with relevant safety knowledge. Our customers are machine makers, system integrators as well as end users in almost all segments in the manu­fac­tur­ing industry.

During these 25 years, why was it important for your company to have a ‘footprint’ in Sin­ga­pore and why do you choose the German Centre Sin­ga­pore?

In the beginning, our Sin­ga­pore office was meant to serve as a springboard to other countries in the Asia Pacific. Subsequently, the Sin­ga­pore office became the hub for Pilz to develop its operations in the South­east Asia region. Being situated within the German Centre brings us prestige as well as allows us to constantly stay connected with the local German industry and commu­nity.

Your company has been in the German Centre for 25 years, what are some of the advantages of being in the building?

The German Centre provides all the necessary services for us tenants and it is strategically located in the heart of the Sin­ga­pore's industrial area. Furthermore, the German Centre provides the space and resources to support growing companies expand their businesses and operations further.

Being a long serving tenant, what does your company look forward to on your future landlord-tenant relationship with the German Centre Sin­ga­pore?

After being situated in the German Centre for some years, we are looking forward to continuously maintaining our good working relationship with the German Centre. We hope to foster more relationships with the ever-growing network within the local German industry and commu­nity, as well as within the local Sin­ga­pore scene with support from the German Centre Sin­ga­pore.

What advice would you give to other companies who would like to set up their business in the German Centre Sin­ga­pore?

We would advise them to keep close contact with the German Centre’s friendly staff as they are always prompt in answering tenants’ enquiries, and to also participate in the centre’s activities to get to know the other tenants within the German Centre.

Lastly, what is the best experience / memory you have of the German Centre during these 25 years?

The best memory we had of the German Centre is the bi-annual fire drills as not only did it train us to be ever-ready in times of a fire, it also gave us an opportunity to interact with other tenants within the German Centre. Therefore it allowed us to open doors to potential partnerships and business relationships with other companies.
